

It is an auspicious occasion for the Islamic community as one believes all Muslims' names are registered in heaven. Shab-e-Barat means the Night of Forgiveness and Day of Atonement as people seek forgiveness from Allah for their sins. This event is celebrated every year on the 15th night, the night between the 14th and 15th of the month of Sha'ban, which is the 8th month of Islamic calendar.
